The Hollywood Palladium was bustling with stars on Sunday, Dec. 8. The occassion: TrevorLIVE, an all-star show to raise funds for the Trevor Project, a national organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth.
The evening began with Emmy-winning comedian Kathy Griffin, who entertained the 1,200-member audience with laughs and harmless jokes about Selena Gomez’s lip-synching at Jingle Ball and how “‘Justine’ Bieber will not stop Instagramming photos of himself shirtless.”
The 15-year anniversary of The Trevor Project, produced by So You Think You Can Dance judge Adam Shankman, then witnessed several standing-ovation performances, chief among them: crowd favorite and longtime Trevor Project supporter Adam Lambert.
Dressed in a striking purple paisley-patterned suit, the rocker was introduced by American Idol judge Paula Abdul, after which he performed a moving version of his hit single “Whataya Want From Me,” accompanied only by Idol music director, Michael Orland on piano.
