Coinciding with the April 22 release of her debut full-length album “The New Classic,” Iggy Azalea’s single “Fancy” (featuring Charli XCX) jumps 4-1 on Hot Rap Songs to end the reign of Pitbull’s “Timber” (featuring Ke$ha) after 15 weeks. The last time a female with lead billing led the list was in 2011 when Nicki Minaj’s “Moment 4 Life” (featuring Drake) ruled for nine weeks.

Overall, Azalea is the 14th female to hit No. 1 on Rap Songs as a lead act.
On Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, “Fancy” jumps 11-6 with Airplay Gainer honors thanks to a 27 percent rise to 28.6 million listener impressions in the April 16-22 Nielsen BDS tracking week. Correspondingly, the Invisible Men and Arcade-produced track also jumps 12-9 on Rhythmic Songs, with a 24 percent gain, and 12-10 on Rap Airplay, up 27 percent, for her first two airplay top 10s. On Rap Digital Songs, the cut posts a second chart-topping week, growing 60 percent to a weekly high of 84,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan (week ending April 20).
As if that weren’t enough, “Fancy” also breaks into the top tiers of R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs and Rap Streaming Songs with a 38 percent lift to 2.4 million domestic streams (week ending April 20). On the former chart, it leaps 18-7 in its third week, while on the latter, it moves 11-4 in its seventh. Industry forecasters suggest “The New Classic” will be the top debut on the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums next week.

Speaking of Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, newcomer August Alsina debuts atop the chart with “Testimony,” selling 67,000 first-week copies. It is his second appearance on the chart following his debut EP “Downtown: Life Under The Gun” which bowed at No. 14 with 5,000 copies on the chart dated Sept. 7, 2013. Both sets were buoyed by lead single “I Luv This Sh*t” (featuring Trinidad James) which spent two weeks atop the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart in October.
Alsina’s debut dethrones Pharrell’s “G I R L,” which falls 1-2 despite a 12 percent increase to 33,000 units. John Legend’s “Love in the Future” holds onto No. 3 with a 68 percent lift to 20,000 while Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” jumps 6-4 thanks to a 46 percent rise to 16,000. YG’s “My Krazy Life” closes out the top five with a 4-5 dip (down 4 percent to 11,000).
Outside of the top 10, Las Vegas native Dizzy Wright opens at No. 11 with his “State of Mind” EP moving 7,000 units. It is his fourth appearance on the chart following his 2012 full length debut “Smoke Out Sessions” (No. 42 peak) and EP “The First Agreement” (No. 25 peak) and his 2013 mixtape “The Golden Age” (No. 23). “State of Mind” is a teaser for Wright’s as-yet-untitled sophomore album, expected this year on rapper Hopsin’s independent label Funk Volume.
At the top of Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Pharrell’s “Happy” claims an 11th week at No. 1. It is the longest-running chart-topper since Eminem’s “The Monster” (featuring Rihanna) notched 13 weeks in February. John Legend’s “All of Me” and Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty” (featuring 2 Chainz) hold tight at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, while Chris Brown’s “Loyal” (featuring Lil Wayne and Tyga, 5-4) and Aloe Blacc’s “The Man” (4-5) trade places at Nos. 4 and 5.
Azalea’s aforementioned “Fancy” jumps 11-6 to push Kid Ink’s “Show Me” (featuring Chris Brown, 6-7) and Trey Songz’s “Na Na” (7-8) down one position each. Eminem’s “Monster” and Beyonce’s “Partition” stay put at Nos. 9 and 10 to close out the top 10.
