Billboard will bring the party ahead of next month’s Lollapalooza festival in the Windy City. The free Billboard Pre Party, presented by Cotton, is set for Aug. 1 at Chicago’s Double Door, and will feature performances from British singer Kate Nash, Canadian group Half Moon Run, and indie-pop act Blondfire.

Nash’s headlining set will be part of Billboard’s Tastemakers Style Sessions series, which features today’s hottest up-and-coming acts. The show starts at 8 p.m. The singer-songwriter broke into the scene in 2008 with her U.K. platinum No. 1 album “Made of Bricks.” She’ll hit the road for her third North American tour this fall in support of her latest album, “Girl Talk.”
Half Moon Run is making all the right noises in the U.K., where their song “Call Me in the Afternoon” was selected as the “Hottest Record in the World” by influential BBC DJ Zane Lowe. Recently, the band has toured the with Metric and Of Monsters and Men, and this fall they’ll join Mumford & Sons on their Gentlemen of the Road stopovers.

Blondfire’s career is heating up thanks to a busy touring schedule and a hot single, “Where The Kids Are,” which was nominated by iTunes as “New and Noteworthy.”
Guests at the party will be in the running to win a pair of three-day passes to Lollapalooza by having their “festival fashion” captured by a Billboard photographer on-site. Cotton will be handing out custom tank-tops and tote bags on the night.
