Pop-punk upstarts the Summer Set will release their third album, “Legendary,” on Apr. 16 through Fearless Records, and the 12-song set is being led by the spunky single “Boomerang.” Take a listen to the new single, hitting digital retailers on Tuesday (Mar. 12) and premiering exclusively on Billboard.com one day early:
The Summer Set has previously released the song “Maybe Tonight” from “Legendary,” and “Boomerang” follows suit, name-checking Jay-Z and Da Vinci over an airy beat. For the Scottsdale, Ariz. band, whose songs have appeared on shows like “Dancing With The Stars” and “Jersey Shore,” the follow-up album to 2011’s “Everything’s Fine” promises a whole mess of hooks and songwriting growth.
“This is a song about promising all of the most outlandish wonders you can for a girl that you love and never giving up on her,” says frontman Brian Dales of “Boomerang.” “Our first record had a great sense of tongue-in-cheek lyrics and energy, and I think this song is a great representative of TSS 3.0.”
